Great location and decent place but beware of undisclosed egregious cleaning fee
This was a decent place except that we had to pay an unadvertised and unexpected $250 USD cleaning fee upon arrival for a two night stay. This undisclosed fee made this reservation booking very misleading. Had that been made clear during booking, we could've looked at elsewhere for better value places. The wifi in our unit also did not work so we had to call front desk multiple times, who had us look at the router devices and try the default passwords. They said they would send a technician in, but during our entirety of our stay we had to use the wifi from a neighbouring unit which was spotty and did not work most of the time. There were also ants and a list of tasks to do prior to check out. I do not recommend staying at Castle Kamaole Sands Resort!

Immaculate unit, calm and relaxing
Very updated 1 bedroom, 2 bath condo, new cabinets, flooring and appliances throughout. The furniture is contemporary and not a piece of bamboo insight. I wish a had taken photos. Request to stay in building 7, unit 207. The grounds are well cared for and the view from the very large balcony is great. We spent three relaxing night here. This unit comes with beach chairs, beach towels, umbrella and sand toys for the kiddos.

beware of extra hidden fees
one of the worst vacation stays I've had. when I arrived at check-in, I was informed there was a $310+ USD "cleaning fee" that was never disclosed prior to booking and they would not allow me to check-in without paying this egregious fee, nor would they allow me to cancel my booking without losing 100% of the cost of stay. so I was forced to pay the fee otherwise I would be sleeping outside and losing all the prepayments. I don't understand why the cleaning fee is so high as our unit was dirty (stained sheets, dusty floors with hairs, no bed comforter, sofa bed was dirty). definitely would NOT recommend this place to anyone.

Building 5 115 was amazing
We were in Building 5 in room 115. We had 3 condos booked and this was the best of the 3. First floor with a very large sectional comfortable couch, great cushy patio furniture and a wonderful double sized Murphy bed. The master bedroom had a king size bed that was very comfortable. 2 bathrooms both with showers. The master bath had a tub shower and the second shower was a walk-in. Kitchen was well equipped although we didn’t cook. Ceiling fans in the rooms. We didn’t need the AC which is great since the living room AC blew right on the head of the Murphy bed. Lots and lots of drawers. Great internet. 2 big TVs. There was an orange cat that knew how to open the screen door and we had to carry him out daily. Staff was amazing as was the pool and jacuzzi. Loved our stay here. Closet on the patio had chairs, a wagon, floaties, an ice chest, etc. Fridge has an ice maker. Beach across the street and swam with turtles every day.

Poorly maintained and dishonest management
When we checked in, we were told that a ground floor unit was the only available despite our clear request at time of booking that we did not want a ground floor. It only got worse from there, the furniture in the unit was cheap and worn. The mattress on the sofa bed was non-existent which caused me to bruise my spine which escalated to a full scale spinal infection and a visit by the ambulance service. After returning home, we asked for a partial refund and the manager gave us the runaround. It was only after our travel agent persisted and got their own lawyer involved that we were given a refund. Apparently, each unit is owned individually and it is luck of the draw if you get a good owner who maintains the unit, or not. Please avoid this resort - for your own health and safety!
